Dream 6: The Emergence of the Self, or the Ground Dimension by Almaas
This dream was a white peacock. When I brought this dream to therapy, my analyst said each eye of the feather could be understood as individual souls, or mandalas, belonging together in harmony as one Self (Raff, 2000) – another key association to the Soul of the World (Raff, 2000).
This also equates to what Almaas (2004) describes as the ‘ground dimension’ which is the stage where a person realises that all manifestations of creation are absolute. He describes the experience as being ‘grounded in something deeper, vaster, and more mysterious’ (p. 429). For me, this image of the peacock showed how the individual belongs to the mysterious whole; I saw this dream as a possible symbolic representation of the ground dimension.
